The Twin Cities Metro District Right of Way office provides the following services:
- Supplies real estate and land information services to the Metro area
- Acquires land for the construction and maintenance of MnDOT transportation facilities
- Offers relocation assistance for commercial, industrial, residential, farm or special purpose properties
- Obtains permits, negotiates agreements and manages state-owned property through lease and sale, and reconveys properties no longer needed for transportation purposes
- Administers the release and turnback of unneeded portions of the highway system to the appropriate levels of local government
